Ron McMillan, the chairman of N Brown, has decided to retire from the board after serving for 11 years.
McMillan will be stepping down on April 30, and until a permanent replacement is found, the group CEO, Steve Johnson, will temporarily assume the role of chair.
N Brown, the parent company of JD Williams and Simply Be, has already initiated the search for a new chairperson to succeed McMillan, with further details to be shared in the coming days.
In acknowledgment of McMillan’s achievements, Johnson stated, “Ron has played a pivotal role in the company’s transformation and his contribution as chair has been invaluable. The board extends its gratitude to Ron for his unwavering commitment to N Brown.”
The company also announced that Vicky Mitchell, an independent non-executive, will follow suit and resign from the board post the annual general meeting in July to focus on other professional endeavors.
N Brown is actively seeking a successor to Mitchell.
Despite projecting softer sales, N Brown remains optimistic about meeting its profit targets for the year by implementing enhanced margin discipline.
