Tala, a brand known for its activewear, has successfully acquired £5m in funding to support its expansion into the international market.
The company has revealed plans to utilize the investment provided by Pembroke VCT to target the US market, capitalizing on its growing customer base and social media following abroad.
In addition to targeting the US market, Tala intends to use the funds to strengthen its infrastructure, enhance its team capabilities, and explore opportunities for establishing a physical presence in brick-and-mortar stores.
The brand recently introduced shop-in-shops within Selfridges’ department stores across England in May, marking a significant milestone in its growth.
Grace Beverley, a former social media influencer turned entrepreneur, founded Tala in May 2019. Within a year of trading, the company managed to achieve sales of £5.2m and has experienced rapid growth ever since.
Beverley expressed her enthusiasm about the new funding round led by Pembroke, marking a significant milestone in Tala’s journey of growth. She acknowledged the tremendous support and love from customers as the brand expanded its product categories and offerings.
She stated, “I am incredibly excited for the next stage of our journey and look forward to continuing to revolutionize the industry with carefully crafted wardrobe essentials and innovative pieces designed by women, for women.”
Andrew Wolfson, CEO of Pembroke VCT, commented on the investment, affirming their confidence in Tala’s innovative approach and strong market appeal. The team at Tala, led by Grace Beverley and Morgan Fowles, has shown a remarkable ability to connect with consumers through organic channels and amplify Tala’s presence while staying true to its core values.
Wolfson added, “This investment will empower Tala to accelerate its expansion, diversify its product range, and solidify its position in the global market. The athleisure market on a global scale is ready for disruption from dynamic, youthful entrepreneurial brands, and Tala is well-positioned to lead the way.”
