John Lyttle, the former chief executive of Boohoo, stepped down from his role earlier this year amid allegations of stalking and “corporate espionage” brought forward by various executives within the organization.

Lyttle, who resigned from the online retailer on October 18 after a five-year tenure, reportedly cited concerns regarding stalking and surveillance as factors contributing to his decision to leave, The Times has suggested.

This development follows reports that police departments in Manchester and Kent are currently investigating claims of stalking incidents believed to be directed at Lyttle, newly appointed Boohoo CEO Dan Finley, and co-founder Mahmud Kamani.

According to The Times, the three individuals, both current and former executives at Boohoo, have asserted that they have been tailed over recent months by men using public transportation and in other communal spaces across London, Manchester, and Kent.

Lyttle has reported encounters with two intruders at his residence, while Kamani has allegedly been assaulted by one of the individuals involved.

On November 13, Boohoo also uncovered unauthorized surveillance equipment located outside its Manchester headquarters, which was reportedly recording employees as they entered and exited the premises.

This device was subsequently removed and presented to law enforcement, with the occurrence being reported to both the Information Commissioner’s Office and Greater Manchester council.

The identities of those alleged to be responsible, along with any individuals or entities that may have hired them, remain unclear. No arrests have been made to date.

A spokesperson for Boohoo remarked to The Times: “It would be inappropriate to comment whilst a police investigation is ongoing.”
