Castore has named Peter Alecock, a former executive from JD Sports, to the newly established position of commercial director.
Alecock previously held the CEO role at Joe Browns, a home and fashion retail company, from July 2022 to February of this year. Before that, he spent time at JD Sports, where he was the chief operating officer from September 2019 to May 2022, following a 16-year tenure in various commercial roles at the sportswear company.
As the commercial director, Alecock will oversee the overall performance of Castore’s sportswear brand across retail, wholesale, and ecommerce channels for both partnerships and mainline divisions, as reported by Drapers.
Having been ranked as the second fastest-growing private company in Britain in June 2023, Castore has added several new members to its leadership team this year, including Leon Shepherd from Secret Sales as the chief technology officer and Stuart Puddy, a veteran from JD Sports, as the investment director.
The company secured £150 million from new and existing investors in November, in a deal that valued the company at nearly £1 billion.
