This summer, revered American clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch is slated to unveil a new store in the bustling area of Spitalfields, east London, spurred by an exceptional surge in sales for the first part of the year.
In a new development reported by Drapers, the retail giant will set up its latest outpost at 2 Horner Square, creating a fresh, airy environment for shoppers to explore its men’s and women’s clothing collections.
In addition to offering in-store pickup for online orders, the brand plans to engage customers with a unique art display highlighting captivating photographic work inspired by the city.
Following a resurgence in popularity for 90s-inspired fashion, Abercrombie & Fitch anticipates enjoying a second year of remarkable double-digit growth in sales, a milestone it hasn’t seen in more than ten years.
The company has reason to be optimistic as its first-quarter report shows a phenomenal 282% increase in operating income, climbing to $130m (£102m) up to May 4. Additionally, net sales soared by 22% from the previous year to $1bn (£780m), making it the most profitable first quarter in Abercrombie & Fitch’s storied history.
Echoing the brand’s enthusiasm for its latest international venture, Managing Director EMEA Scott Clarke-Bryan commented: “Our A&F Spitalfields market store signals our deepening resolve to cater to the UK market, and we’re excited to present an immersive, customer-centric shopping experience in the heart of Shoreditch.”
